BIO

Wheelz (a.k.a. Ryan Schmidt) was born in Austin, Texas in December 1991 and has been destined to change the lives of those he touches since day number one. Backed by a Mother who inspires, a Father who plays rock-n-roll, and a family of loved ones that support his every move, Wheelz has chosen the path of hip-hop to express himself to the world.

Wheelz began writing lyrics in 2008, soon after Wheelz came across producer Tim Bailey with Nuf-Sed Studios (more recently, ‘NThePocket Entertainment.) Tim and Wheelz quickly started recording. Tim Bailey has helped out tremendously; making sure Wheelz dream of becoming a rapper is brought to reality.  Wheelz has two full albums under his belt, and now he’s working on his third.

Wheelz is a huge Tupac fan. Tupac, through his lyrics motivated Wheelz to start writing his own material. Wheelz loves all genres of music, but prefers R&B.

Wheelz mom is one tough lady, if you mess with her son. Wheelz loves his mom. He is a proud momma’s boy. His mom talks to everyone about her son Wheelz , one day his mom started talking with a beautiful woman. It turns out her name is Grace Sharington Co-founder & principal of Dremana Productions, a multimedia company. Grace soon met up with Wheelz for the first time, after an electric performance. Grace has helped Wheelz a lot with not only publicity but jump starting a career. You always know when Grace is around; there will be lip stick present on Wheelz cheek.

Wheelz would like to dedicate all his albums to boys facing challenges from Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Duchenne is the most common fatal genetic disorder diagnosed in early childhood. It causes loss of muscle function and independence. Currently 1 out of 3,600 boys born worldwide has DMD. It is the leading genetic killer of boys – Approximately 2 boys die of DMD every day. This horrible disease is 100% fatal.

A LETTER FROM WHEELZ…

What’s up everybody?!

My name is Larry Ryan Schmidt you may also know me as Wheelz the rapper.  I was born in Austin, Texas also known as the “Live Music Capital of the World”.  At the age of 4 years old I was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.  At the time I had no clue what was happening to my body.

3 years later I was confined to a power wheelchair.  So remember I’m only 7 years old, no one taught me how to operate a wheelchair.  I was a dangerous driver running into walls, I was pretty much destroying my house but I finally mastered how to drive the darn chair.

Inspiration on Wheelz... a Biography

Inspiration on Wheelz... a Biography

10 years later I started to write music & record in my dad’s home studio, a few months later I went to buy some Michael Jordan shoes & they didn’t have the shoe’s I wanted.  So I went to another store, they ended up having the shoe’s.  Before I left I start talking to this guy, to find out he’s a DJ.  I started talking to him, I told him I rap so I asked him, hey do know where a good studio is to record?  He said he knew of one.  He gave me a phone number & told me to call Nathan AKA Lil black. I gave him a call & he gave me Tim Bailey’s number.  Long story short he is now my producer, friend, & brother from another mother.

My music is very inspirational, uplifting, positive, motivating.  Will give you Goosebumps, every song has a message in it.  I poured my heart out in these tracks.  I also rap to raise awareness about Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. 1 out of 3,600 boys worldwide are born with DMD. There is no cure at this time, so I put a non-profit together called Inspiration on Wheelz to help boy’s with Muscular Dystrophy.

I would like to thank God for blessing me with these musical talents.  I’d like to thank all my fans my friends & my family for supporting me.  A special thanks to Dremana Productions.

Sincerely,

Wheelz
